JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This morning temperatures are warm in the 70s with a few showers in Putnam County.
- Grounds are damp after a widespread 1-2″ of rain across many areas yesterday.
- Today will be warm and humid with highs in the 80s and some spotty showers and storms.
- Not everyone will see rain today, and coverage will be a little less along the I-95 corridor today.
- Inland communities west of Highway 301 and north into southeast Georgia have a higher chance of heavier rain today.
- Sunday will feature another round of showers and storms, primarily in the afternoon and evening.
- Some of this rain will be very heavy and will likely cause at least some minor flooding in a few places.
- A slow-moving front will move across our area Monday.
- This front will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms, some heavy.
- An area of low pressure will develop along that front Monday into Tuesday, beginning a nor’easter for our region.
- Prolonged gusty onshore winds (25-40 mph) and rounds of heavy rain (some torrential) will lead to a soggy and unsettled few days across our area.
- While all the rain will be very beneficial, too much in too little time will increase the concern for flooding.
- Not out of the question that some neighborhoods see more than 6″ of rain before all is said and done.
- Very rough beach weather is expected Tuesday-Thursday.
