JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville mom is mad after she says two of her sons were involved in a scuffle with a Fletcher High School coach at a football game this weekend.
She said one son wound up in handcuffs, and the other wound up in the hospital.
“I was freaking out on Saturday,” said Sapine Benker, mother of a Sandalwood High football player.
Benker said Jeff McCrone, a Fletcher High School coach, kicked him in the back during a game against Sandalwood.
“I had to take him to the hospital. He had chest pain, but I let him check out, so he should be fine,” Benker said.
Benker said after the game, her older son went up to that coach and punched him in the face.

“I was mad. My son was in handcuffs and the coach from the other side not,” Benker said. "I want him suspended from school and in jail.”
Action News Jax asked the school district how long the physical education teacher and coach had worked at Fletcher.
A representative said McCrone’s held that position for less than two weeks.
He used to be head football coach at Englewood High School.
Action News Jax asked for McCrone’s personnel file and asked the school district whether action has been taken against any school employees or students because of the incident. All they would say is it’s still under investigation.
