Florida city suspends use of Flock cameras

PALM BAY, Fla. — A Florida City in Brevard County is suspending its “Flock” license plate reader cameras. The City of Palm Bay says the decision came after learning they many not have been installed correctly and without the proper permits.

The city launched an investigation with support from their police department and city council. Some city council members also say they’re concerned about privacy and public trust.

“There are concerns from the residents that they can’t drive anywhere in our city without the government knowing where they’re going,” said Palm Bay Councilman Chandler Langevin.
