JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Only one restaurant was shut down this week for serious health violations, though not for pest control issues, but they had other serious health violations.

A health inspector issued a stop sale on lettuce at the Taqueria Hernandez food truck because an employee handled a water hose outside, then touched lettuce without washing their hands.

The health inspector also noted temperature violations on four items including beef, pork, chicken an onions, and noticed that the hot water hand wash sink couldn’t reach 100 degrees as required. It was temporarily shut down.

At the Point Coffee Shop on Moncrief Road, a health inspector issued a stop sale on sweet potato pie because of temperature issues, noticed an employee who cracked raw eggs and then worked with a waffle without washing their hands in between, and saw utensils stored in unclean water. A follow-up inspection is required.

At Margarita’s Mexican Grill on San Jose Boulevard, a health inspector found one fly in the kitchen, issued a stop sale on foods with temperature issues in the fridge and discovered chicken that was not fully cooked. A follow-up inspection is required.
