JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three former Jimmy John’s employees are suing the company, alleging they weren't compensated for their work. A lawsuit was filed in federal court in Jacksonville last week.
In it, former Jimmy John’s workers in Chicago, Charleston and Jacksonville accuse the national chain of systematically shorting assistant store managers on overtime.

According to the lawsuit, Jimmy John's classified assistant managers as "executives" to avoid paying overtime and failed to record all the time employees had worked.
Lawyers for the plaintiffs are trying to turn this into a collective action complaint, which means other workers could join in.
Action News has reached out to Jimmy John's corporate headquarters for reaction. We are waiting to hear back.
