JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former University of North Florida student is not facing charges despite several threats to a professor, including one that said she should cut up her own arms.

Action News Jax learned what else was in those threatening emails and the reason the student was not arrested.

A UNF police report goes into disturbing detail about what a professor says a former student sent her via email.

To her surprise, it was from a student she failed four years earlier.

In the first email the student used expletives and wrote "I T-P'd your house!" too late to do anything God bless the statute of limitation," -- then went on berating and insulting her.

In another email he wrote "maybe you should slice your arms all up and down again."

"Nobody should ever be told to commit suicide or anything like that," said UNF student Jennifer Griebel.

After receiving a third threatening email, the professor decided it was time to call the university police department. Students said that was the right thing to do.

"He shouldn't be allowed to get away with something like that," Greibel said.

A UNF representative said the student is not currently enrolled and hasn't been for a long time.

Police say the student later admitted to being intoxicated when he sent the emails and apologized to his professor.

While the case has been resolved, students say no matter what the reason, sending threats via the Internet is unacceptable.

"A lot has happened this semester around the universities in America so it is scary," said UNF student Katie Gilbert.
