Gainesville man runs from officer, leaves 4-month-old in car, police say

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — A Gainesville man is accused of driving recklessly with a 4-month-old baby in his car.

K-wan Brennen was arrested Wednesday night along Northwest 16th Avenue.

Police said an officer tried to pull over Brennen after spotted him speeding and running stop signs. However, he refused to stop, police said.

Brennen eventually stopped the vehicle in the 1100 block of 6th Street and ran, leaving the baby in the back of the car, police said.

A K9 officer found Brennen on the Rails-to-Trails bike path, and he was arrested. He faces several charges such as child abuse, driving with a suspended, revoked license and fleeing from an officer.
