Girl pepper-sprays 13-year-old boy on school bus, 9 kids treated for exposure, police say

The two had been arguing at school for days

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed battery at 3625 University Blvd. South in Jacksonville on Thursday, Aug. 22. A deputy was alerted of a "disturbance" in front of the ambulance bay, police say.

Deputies observed two school buses with a crowd of approximately 50 to 60 students and adults in disarray, according to the police report.

The bus driver said he did not witness the incident, but that a passenger pepper-sprayed another passenger, 13, and that he pulled into the emergency room parking lot because kids were trying to jump out of the bus.

Deputies tried to question the suspect. They eventually handcuffed her for being uncooperative and combative, police say.
