GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A local man is behind bars accused of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old girl, police say.
Emery Boyd, 59, is charged with engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a minor, trafficking and theft by deception.
According to a warrant, Boyd gave the girl drugs, alcohol and a place to stay in exchange for sex.
Investigators said it happened on December 14th at Boyds Transmission on Norwich Street in Brunswick – it’s also Boyd’s listed address.
Police said they started investigating Boyd in December of last year after allegations of inappropriate contact between Boyd and a 14-year-old girl. Officers later learned the girl was a runaway.
Police said the girl is now back in a shelter.
