JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An abandoned German shepherd is recovering thanks to good Samaritans who found the young dog on the side of the road.
The rescuers say the dog was hit by a car, and they brought her to the Southside Animal Clinic on Arlington Road.
The dog has two fractured legs, and a broken tail that will be amputated, said the veterinarian at the clinic. The veterinarians also say she has two more surgeries to repair her legs.
Now they are hoping to raise money to cover surgery costs and recovery.
Anyone who wishes to donate to help the dog can do so by either going to the Southside Animal Clinic, call at 904-721-3500, or online at www. crowdrise.com.
