JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair has a new home on Jacksonville’s Westside after 70 years downtown, and the fairgrounds are opening its new Duval Hall indoor meeting space.

The 40,000-square-foot hall will host trade shows, corporate meetings and community celebrations beyond the fair itself. Business leaders from across the city have been invited to an opening-night preview.

The new site includes more than 80 acres of fairgrounds and an amphitheater with capacity for 10,000 people.

Fair leaders say the development is about more than the annual event and could spur physical and economic growth on Jacksonville’s Westside.

Bill Olson, president and CEO of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds, highlighted the variety of attractions and access to the new location.

“No other event can you go to where you can see animals, go on rides, see a concert, see a circus show, band — whatever, right? It’s something for everybody. And then out here at the new place too... plenty of parking, easy to get here,” Olson said.
