Gun used in fatal shooting of Tarpon Springs officer stolen from Jacksonville

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The gun used in the shooting death of Tarpon Springs police officer Charles R. Kondek was stolen from Jacksonville.

Detectives found that the gun was stolen during a vehicle burglary on Aug. 5, according to a release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The theft of the gun, a Glock 40, was reported to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Marco Parilla, 23, is accused in the killing of Kondek and is being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail.
