Brantley County Sheriff Len Davis came to visit David Albritton in the hospital. Albritton, a lineman for Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation, was injured while working to restore power in Brantley County during Hurricane Irma.

BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. — A lineman working to restore power after Hurricane Irma in Brantley County on Monday was injured and is now being treated in a Jacksonville hospital.

David Allbritton, who works for Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation, sustained injuries to his pelvis after he was pinned between two trucks, Allbritton said on Facebook.

Initially, Allbritton was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, but he's now at Brooks Rehabilitation, where he is expected to undergo three to six months of rehab, according to another post shared by Sunny.

Many members of the community have set up fundraising efforts for the Allbrittons, who have two children. Sunny Allbritton shared the following information on Facebook:

Sunny Allbritton, who is a graduation coach at Charlton County High School, will be staying with David Allbritton during his recovery and will likely use her remaining vacation days. Allbritton has had many visitors while in the hospital, including Brantley County Sheriff Len Davis.

One event will be held at Folkston Church of God, 960 3rd St., at 6 p.m. on Oct. 7.

Grover Rhoden is organizing a baseball tournament through Brantley County Parks & Recreation on October 14th in Nahunta. There will be three brackets and Rhoden is trying to get 5 teams per bracket.

Entry fee is $300 per team, $5 gate fee and all proceeds go directly to the Allbritton family. Anyone interested in entering a team can contact Rhoden at (912) 390-1865.

Linejunk.com has created a T-shirt with proceeds going to Allbritton and another lineman injured during the storm. The shirts are called "Florida Georgia Strong" and they are $22.

An account has been set up for Allbritton at Southeastern Bank in Nahunta. The name of the account is "Benefit for David Allbritton." Anyone with any questions is asked to call (912) 462-5116.
