ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County Commissioners unanimously approved updated regulations for food trucks and food truck parks.
“What we’re doing here is we’re adding food trucks and food truck parks as allowable uses within certain zoning districts; we’re adding individual food trucks as a temporary use, and we’re providing the design standards for food truck parks as well as adding definitions for it,” said Jacob Smith with Growth Management.
The new regulations establish a set of guidelines for how food truck parks are planned and developed.
The hours of operations for these parks will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
They’ll also have to follow the county’s noise ordinance as well.
Justin Tahilramani is the owner of the Outpost, a food truck park in St. Augustine. He spearheaded this initiative and is grateful to see it come together.
“I think there was a lot of good improvements that came out of some of the discussion last time, specifically the distance and the time. I think 7 to 9 is very reasonable. It works for breakfast, it works for dinner, and I think it was a good compromise,” said Tahilramani.
