Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police are investigating a robbery at BB&T on San Jose Boulevard that occurred at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The scene has already been processed and the three tellers inside the bank at the time have been interviewed.

JSO is now working with the FBI to help to catch the suspect.

According to officials a man walked in, showed employees a gun and demanded cash.

“…walked into the bank approaches the counter lifted his waistband and displayed a black semi-automatic fire arm. He then demanded money from all three tellers inside of the bank,” said JSO Lt. Jennifer Short.

After getting the cash he took off running north bound on San Jose Blvd.

Authorities said the suspect is wearing a dark hat and a blue New York Yankees jacket and was described as a black man, about 5’ 8”, around 170 to 180 pounds, and between 40 and 50 years old.

The description and behavior of the suspect is very similar to a suspect linked to two other bank robberies late last month and last week.

JSO is investigating how much money the suspect took.

Employees hit a silent alarm which alerted JSO.
