Jacksonville basketball team captures 6A championship

The Lady Trojans of Ribault High School won its 12th state championship.

The Ribault High School girls basketball basketball is taking home the trophy as the Class 6A state champions.

The Lady Trojans won the title by defeating Lakewood High School 72-31 Saturday in St. Petersburg.

This is the 12th state title for the Jacksonville team.

In 2016, the Lady Trojans finished their season 30-1 and were named national champions. The team had also won a four-team invitational tournament earlier that year at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
