Jacksonville Beach police arrest rape suspect; Woman sought

Jacksonville Beach police say officers have arrested a man and are working to identify a woman after a sex assault at Jacksonville Beach.

Police began investigating after a woman said she was forced into a car and sexually assaulted near the boardwalk in Jacksonville Beach on July 1.

Police said DNA evidence from the assault led to an arrest warrant for Shawn Elliott Cobb.

Detectives are still working to identify a Hispanic female suspect in the attack. They believe her first name may be Corinthia.

He was taken into custody Aug. 18.
