Jacksonville Beach police investigate sex battery at beachfront condo

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is searching for a man suspected in a sexual battery incident that took place at a beachfront condo complex around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to the condo just south of Oceanfront Park on South 1st Street just before 4 a.m.

JBPD urges all residents to lock all doors and windows regardless of the location at the residence, business or hotel.

Investigators discovered that the man entered the 63-year-old victim's residence through an open sliding glass door on the second floor of the complex.

The man is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds. Police said he was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, a baseball cap, a white thermal shirt under the hoodie that was hanging out below the hoodie, and dark denim pants.
