A family in mourning stood in front of a temporary memorial for 23-year-old Leon Bennett Tuesday night.

But at least now they know justice is in sight.

“I was really excited and happy. Sucks to have this kind of happiness. It just brings us closer to the justice we are going to have for him,” said Rhonda Kelly, Bennett’s mother.

Walker is also accused of carrying a gun.

Tuesday night, Jacksonville Beach Police released pictures of two men they say are tied to Bennett’s death. Officers said Shaquille Walker and Jose Lebron Emanuel are both wanted for tampering with evidence.

Police said Bennett, a father of two small children and aspiring rapper, was shot and killed after he got into a fight with a group of people near the Pier Cantina on June 24.

“I just miss him,” said Susan Kelly, Bennett’s grandmother.

Police said they have been searching through video from the night of the fight, but that video from their city cameras were offline at the time.

“Justice will be served. Leon deserves that. His family deserves that because he didn’t deserve to die like this,” Kelly said.
