Several fights broke out at the Jacksonville Fair on Saturday night and it closed early after it reached capacity.

Video posted to social media shows two fights outside the fairgrounds on the EverBank Field side.

One video shows a group of girls kicking, punching and pulling each other’s hair outside the Jacksonville Fairgrounds until officers intervened.

Officers also intervened in that fight.

A second video shows several fights between people in a large group.

A Jacksonville Fair spokesperson told Action News Jax the teens were removed from the fair after they started pushing and shoving.

“They were just some mischief makers that really wanted to shove some people around,” Gayle Hart, vice president of marketing for the fair, said. “We didn’t want that.”

Hart said the fair closed early that night for a different reason.

She said the fair stopped admission more than an hour early because there were too many people in the carnival section of the fair.

Everyone already inside the fair was allowed to stay until it closed at 11 p.m.

A viewer told Action News Jax she went to the fair just before 9 p.m. and was told by an officer that it was closed because several fights broke out.

She said the officer told her it got out of control.

After the fair closed, Hart said another group of kids were kicked out after they tried to jump a fence to get in.

The fence had minor damage and no one was hurt, according to the spokesperson.
