JACKSONVILLE, Fla — A police report stated that the family of the child who got second-degree burn from a green-flamed pumpkin watched a YouTube video on how to create that green flame.
So that got us thinking, how many other videos are out there showing people how to do this?
A quick internet search comes up with thousands of results.
One video, which has more than 103,000 views, shows what this family was likely going for a jack-o-lantern with a glowing green flame inside of it.

Boric acid is a recommended ingredient in this video.
The family of the burned child tried to create the flame with this ingredient since compound borax was listed in the report. The report also stated that the family mixed borax with antifreeze.
The president of the Jacksonville Association of Firefighters, Randy Wyse, said it’s very dangerous for people to do this because many know when certain chemicals could react violently when combined.
Wyse encouraged people not to use any flammable liquid in pumpkins, not even a candle.
He recommended to go with a battery-powered light instead.
