At approximately 12:30 p.m. Saturday, a JTA bus dragged a woman in her 50's as she was exiting on Ocean Street in the Mayport area of Jacksonville. She became entangled and was run over by the bus, killing her, JSO says.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ocean Street in Mayport has reopened. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has completed the traffic homicide investigation and traffic is flowing in both directions.
Family members of the victim are on the scene. There is also traffic at the boat ramp, and traffic is currently being rerouted.
In response to the incident, JTA Media and Public Relations Manager David Cawton II said, "The Jacksonville Transportation Authority would like to express our deepest condolences to family of the deceased. The safety and security of our customers, employees and the community is paramount. We are cooperating with the JSO's ongoing investigation to get to the bottom of what happened."
