NBPD: Jacksonville man arrested after slamming into police cruiser, charged with DUI

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — A drunk driver was arrested last weekend after slamming into a police cruiser while it was on the scene of another crash.

On Sunday, Nov. 12 officers were on A1A near 3rd Street at the scene of a crash that had shut down all northbound lanes of traffic. According to the Neptune Beach Police Department, during the traffic investigation, a white Honda Accord driven by Frank Stevenson, 51, barreled into the passenger side of the patrol vehicle.

In a Facebook post following the incident, NBPD urged drivers to “be careful, remain attentive, and NEVER drink and drive.”

Stevenson was charged with DUI. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one day in jail and six months probation, according to court records.
