Jacksonville police bomb squad removes live Civil War-era cannonballs from Amelia Island museum

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — Fernandina Beach fire, police and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bomb squad responded Tuesday afternoon to the Amelia Island Museum of History after two Civil War-era cannonballs were determined to be live.

The museum said in a Facebook post that Frank Ofeldt of Fort Clinch determined that the cannonballs were live.

The museum showed JSO's Bomb Squad responding to the museum to remove the cannonballs on Facebook Live.
