JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man who is accused of robbing several convenience stores while shirtless admitted to police that he fatally struck a woman with his truck and fled the scene Thursday morning.
George Keene Jr., 49, appeared in court Friday on unrelated robbery charges.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said while police were interviewing Keene about the robbery charges, he admitted to hitting the woman in the 8300 block of New Kings Road.
The woman has been identified by JSO as 45-year-old Vicky Sue Deyoung,
Keene has been charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving death.
