JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after shots were fired Monday night at the McDonald's on Blanding Boulevard near Collins Road.

Police said they are investigating the incident as an aggravated assault.

Sean Wilson, the general manager of the McDonald's, told Action News Jax that no one in the restaurant was hurt.

About 12 people were inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting. The side windows of the restaurant were hit, and a vehicle with four people inside it was also hit.

Wilson said he believes an employee who was working at the time was targeted.

"Definitely don't feel like it's a random thing," Wilson said. "After talking with that specific crew person and getting him with the cops and letting him know on our end this is not the way we do business and this is what has to happen, my opinion is that it's not a random thing."

Police were still at the scene investigating as of just before 11:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators are searching for a white vehicle they believe was involved in the shooting.
