The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating two incidents that happened at Hanna Park and that appear to have similar suspect descriptions.

The first incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 11, around 3:15 p.m. A woman was running in the park, which is located at 500 Wonderwood Drive.

A man began talking to the woman and she noticed the man was following her, JSO said. She stopped to let the man pass her, and he came up to her, forced her to the ground and began hitting her.

The man in that incident is described as a Hispanic male with a short buzz cut, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 170 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, gray shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses with blue lenses.

The suspect took the woman's cellphone from her arm holder and left. The woman told police that the man did not make any sexual statements or intentions toward her.

The other incident happened on Thursday, Jan. 12, around 2 p.m. at the Hanna Park Campground. A woman was sitting on a bench when she observed a man exit and re-enter the trail repeatedly. The man stopped at one point and started talking with the woman.

The woman was concerned for her safety and began to walk away, police said. At that point, she saw the man touching himself inappropriately and she left the area.

The man in that incident also described as a Hispanic male with a short buzz cut. He's described as being 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and as weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, a dark gray shirt, blue jeans and high-top tennis shoes and had some facial hair growth.
