The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a wanted suspect at the center of a Monday afternoon SWAT call at the Kings Trail apartments.

JSO's SWAT team responded Monday afternoon to the Kings Trail apartments after a woman was reportedly threatened by a man with a gun. Police had the complex blocked off for several hours.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office got a call around 1 p.m. from a female victim, who said her boyfriend had threatened her with a gun.

Police arrived and the suspect, 25-year-old Bernard McQueen, wasn't inside the home. Witnesses told police they thought they saw McQueen go back inside, so the SWAT team was called to the apartments.

Neighbors were told to stay inside their apartments. Later, police realized that McQueen wasn't inside the home. Police are still seeking McQueen, whom they consider to be armed and dangerous.

“More security, they need security, especially for these children,” said Georgina Alston.

According to the Hubbard House, a local organization that deals with domestic abuse, the Domestic Violence Fatality Review 2015 Report says there were six intimate partner homicides here in Jacksonville. None of the suspects had prior criminal records for domestic violence.

McQueen has an active warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault, JSO said.

Anyone with any information on McQueen's whereabouts is asked to contact JSO at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward of up to $3,000, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
