Jacksonville Representative Tracie Davis running for State Senate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — District 13 Democrat, Tracie Davis, has announced she will run for the Florida Senate.

The Jacksonville Representative said she will file for the open District 6 currently held by term-limited Sen. Audrey Gibson.

Davis has been District 13′s Rep. since 2016. Born and raised in Jacksonville, she is a former special education teacher and former deputy supervisor of elections for Duval County.

“Filling the shoes of Senator Gibson will be a difficult task indeed, however, I am beyond excited for the opportunity to continue my public service in the Florida Senate,” said Davis. “District 6 needs someone who will deliver jobs and services to Duval County while opposing the dangerous policies and politics of the Governor and the Republicans in Tallahassee.  I’m the only candidate in this race who has done that. I’m ready for this fight, and it starts today.”
