The person responsible for shooting and killing 20-year-old Lamonte Dabney remains on the streets nearly two weeks after the incident.
MAD DADS of Jacksonville members joined police and others Saturday in calling for justice. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told Action News Jax in November that children were nearby the moment Dabney was killed in the park near Spring Park Elementary.

“These children have got to live with this for the rest of their life,” said Donald Foy, MAD DADS of Jacksonville president.
Today, members of the organization and JSO went door to door in Spring Park handing out flyers. They say they’re doing their part in trying to get a murderer off the streets.
Foy tells us Jacksonville holds the information that could put the killer behind bars.
“It never ceases to amaze me that this community expects the Sheriff’s Office to solve a crime, and they weren’t even there, and they won’t tell them what they know,” said Foy.
Dabney’s girlfriend, Leeanndra Members, told Action News Jax that on a rainy day in November, Dabney had gotten into an argument with an unknown suspect. She said the suspect fired multiple shots after the argument.
“My children and I are really, really hurting, and we would really like to be at peace,” said Members. “Please say something.”
Members spoke to Action News Jax reporter Ryan Nelson on the phone, saying she’s grateful for their work and wants justice.
“I’m very much appreciative. I hope that good things come (from) this situation with them walking,” said Members.
As of tonight, no one has been arrested or charged with Dabney’s murder. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers or the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
