Jacksonville’s Riverfront Palooza: City’s largest Easter egg hunt and festival

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville will host Riverfront Palooza, the city’s largest Easter egg hunt, on Saturday, April 4. The free event at Riverfront Plaza will feature more than 20,000 hidden eggs for five different age groups to find.

The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., includes live entertainment, food trucks and family-friendly activities. Mayor Donna Deegan is scheduled to appear during the event along with her River City Readers Bookmobile.

The free event features a variety of entertainment options beyond the egg hunts. Families can visit art and craft stations, participate in face painting and bubble activities, or listen to a live DJ. A designated area will also be available for photos with the Easter Bunny. Food and dessert trucks are scheduled to be on-site to provide refreshments for attendees.

The egg hunts are organized into five specific age-group categories, with each group provided two separate time slots:

  • Ages 0 to 2: 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
  • Ages 3 to 4: 10:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.
  • Ages 5 to 7: 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
  • Ages 8 to 10: 11:10 a.m. and 1:10 p.m.
  • Ages 11 to 12: 11:30 a.m. and 1:35 p.m.

Event organizers noted that while the specific start times are subject to shift throughout the afternoon, the hunts will proceed in the same age-group order.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own baskets to collect eggs, though the city will provide bags for those who need them. Convenient parking for the event is located in nearby garages surrounding Riverfront Plaza, which is located at 2 W. Independent Drive

Deegan is scheduled to arrive at the event at approximately 10 a.m. along with the River City Readers Bookmobile. All festivities will run until 2 p.m.
