JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — There was a heavy police presence near Charleys Cheesesteaks on 3rd Street in Jacksonville Beach early Sunday night after police said someone shot a person who has been taken to the hospital.
The suspected shooter is in custody, and police are gathering details about the shooting that occurred about 6:39 p.m. at 277 3rd Street South.
The business closed and as of 9 p.m. the area had been secured by police, who remained at the location conducting their investigation.
Police said the shooting followed a “disturbance,” but no other details were available.
