Jax residents react to new EverBank Field video boards

Thousands of people made their way to Everbank Field to not only see a soccer game, but also to see the newly renovated scoreboards.

“Just seeing these, they look even better than they were before... I'm really excited to see all the renovations in there,” said Evan Miniard, a local resident.

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan counted down to what fans were waiting for - the scoreboards getting completely lit up.

Jaguar officials say they hope these boards will bring even more big events to the downtown area.

“I think it's going to a be a really good thing for every kind of event that could happen down here at Everbank Field,” said David Price.

Visit Jacksonville says it should know how many people stayed at local hotels for this event by next Wednesday.

Carrie Underwood took the stage to perform a concert with the use of those boards. They span 60 feet high and 362 feet long.
