JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jewish Community Alliance (JCA) employees, who typically fill various positions at the JCA community center, are now assisting River Garden Senior Services.
- About 40 JCA staffers are conducting screenings for people entering River Garden nursing home, while another 15 staffers shop for people living in ‘The Coves,’ River Garden’s independent living facility.
- Earlier this month, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a suspension of nursing home and assisted living facility visits across the state.
- River Garden has implemented the following screening measures for anyone seeking to gain entry to campus:
- "At our guardhouse you and everyone in your party will be screened for:
- Travel or close contact with someone who has traveled internationally or on a cruise ship over the last14 days;
- Fever of 100 degrees or higher;
- Any obvious signs of respiratory illness such as a cough, runny nose, sneezing or shortness of breath;
- Has had contact with someone with or under investigation for COVID-19″
- "Our security guards will take forehead temperature(s) and will ask these specific questions:
- Have you been on a cruise in the past 14 days?
- Have you travelled internationally in the past 14 days?
- Have you had contact with someone with or under investigation for COVID-19?
- Are you feeling ill or sick today?"
- “If you or anyone in your vehicle tests positive for any of the above conditions your vehicle and everyone in it will be denied entry to the campus.”
- Once on the campus we ask that you and everyone in your party sanitize your hands and sign-in to one of the guestbooks located at the River Garden Reception Desk or The Coves Reception Desk.
