The utility is not sending workers door-to-door and does not show up without appointments

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — City-owned utility JEA is warning customers of a scam involving people going door-to-door impersonating JEA employees and offering to test their water for arsenic.

“This is a scam,” a JEA spokesperson said. “JEA is not conducting tests for arsenic in water.”

JEA said its contractors always show proper identification when approaching a customer and that employees always make appointments before showing up at a customer’s home.
