JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Humane Society is holding a “name your price” adoption event to help find forever homes for dozens of dogs and cats. During the “Fetch an A+ Friend,” adopters can choose the price they pay for their new family member, with each dollar supporting lifesaving care for animals.
“While families are shopping for backpacks and preparing for a new school year, we’re hoping they’ll also consider adding a new member to the family,” says Jacksonville Humane Society CEO Lawrence Nicolas. ”Every adoption creates space for another animal in need and gives a deserving pet the chance to begin a brand-new chapter.”
The “Fetch an A+ event” takes place from August 10-14 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jacksonville Humane Society shelter on Beach Blvd.
JHS says each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to head home the same day. Additional fees may apply, such as the city rabies licensing fee, a leash and collar, or a cat carrier.
