JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people were arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a 19-year-old and injured a 16-year-old.
Keyshawn Rankin, 19, and Dominic Campbell, 16, were standing in the parking lot of Quickway Food Store near Moncrief on June 13 at about 8:45 p.m. when they were shot in a driveby.
Rankin was shot once in the chest and Campbell was shot in the leg. Rankin died from his injuries.
Robert Turner was identified as a person of interest in the case, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
A tip related to a traffic stop by the Florida Highway Patrol Tuesday afternoon led police to a hotel in the 400 block of South Lane Avenue. Turner and several other people were taken to the Police Memorial Building and interviewed.
JSO announced Wednesday the arrest of Turner and Katrina Banks in connection with the shooting. Turner is charged with murder and Banks is charged with accessory after the fact.
The weapon believed to be involved in the murder was found in the hotel room, JSO said.
JSO is looking at possible gang ties.
