JSO asks witnesses to come forward in Brentwood shooting; victim identified

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police identify victim in Brentwood shooting and ask witnesses to step forward.

According to police, Malachi Andrews, 21, was the man shot and killed while walking with a group of people on Woodbine Street Saturday night. Police said a suspect started shooting into the group, and Andrews was hit and killed.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office sent a news release asking the group of individuals with Andrews at the scene of the shooting to come forward and speak to detectives about the shooting.

Police said witnesses and surveillance video show several individuals at the scene of the shooting. JSO said none of the individuals remained at the scene or have contacted police.
