JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police said a man stabbed a woman more than 20 times at a hotel in Baymeadows.
The 27-year-old woman survived the attack and, according to police, identified her attacker as Chad Hurst.
Chad Hurst is now in jail, charged with killing 28-year-old Jennalee Miles at the Hawthorn Suites hotel early Saturday morning. Police are not revealing the identity of the survivor.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office made the announcement at a news conference Tuesday.
The investigation began when police responded to a fire alarm to the hotel at 4:34 a.m. Officers found one woman dead, and another critically hurt.
Police said witnesses saw Hurst leaving the hotel.

The survivor who pulled the fire alarm also identified Hurst as the attacker. Police arrested Hurst at his home 12 hours later.
Police said Hurst met the two women on a social media dating website and once they arrived at the hotel, he started stabbing them. Investigators said Hurst used some sort of cutting instrument, but the weapon has not been found.
JSO said the hotel remains an active crime scene.

The 30 year old now accused of murder posted just last month on Facebook saying, "....I've been a dad, a spoiled kid, an athlete, a party animal, a ladies man..." He goes on to say, "...I've also lost it all, money, reputation, motivation, my faith, "true friends", hope..."
Police said Hurst met the women on a website called Backpage.com. Action News Law and Safety Expert Dale Carson said the site promotes illegal activities.
"It's prostitution," Carson said. "Permits people to exchange sexual favors for money."
Carson said there are more websites just like Backpage, but the problem is cracking down on them.
"It seems like an overwhelming problem, but you don't know where the website is located," said Carson.
