JACKSONVILLE, Fla — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a person shot in the 5300 block of Old Kings Road.

JSO stated that this incident is being investigated as a robbery. At 4:53 p.m., an Off duty officer working in this 5200 block saw an SUV slow down and roll off of the roadway, and hit a telephone pole.
The officer quickly responded and tried to render first aid to the victim. JSO stated that the driver of the vehicle had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.
Jfrd transported the 19-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he is currently suffering from critical injuries.
JSO states this happened at an apartment complex around the corner.

Currently, JSO has shut down the 5300 block of Old Kings Road because when the car crashed, it splintered the pole.
Authorities are ensuring that no power is affected in this area.

JSO states that the suspect info fled the apartment complex on foot and that there was some type of altercation that led to the gunfire.
