The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it is investigating an undetermined death at Emerson Street and St. Augustine Road.
JSO identified the victim as 50-year-old Damon Rothermel.
Action News Jax crews at the scene said Rothermel was on a bike.
According to JSO, police responded to Emerson Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, police found Rothermel deceased in the roadway.
Homicide detectives responded and are working to identify witnesses and anyone else who may be involved, according to JSO.
