A Jacksonville officer was arrested Thursday after he was accused of biting his wife during an argument.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesperson said Friday that 20-year JSO veteran Lenell Boyer was arrested for domestic battery.

Police said Boyer began arguing with his wife at their home on Thursday evening.

He bit her on the hand in two places, according to officers.

She put her hand over his mouth so he wouldn't wake children inside the home.

His wife called police several hours later and Boyer was arrested.

He is facing misdemeanor domestic battery.

JSO said Boyer has been assigned to desk duty during the investigation.

Boyer is the tenth JSO employee arrested in 2017.
