JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It’s surveillance video that’s been shared thousands of times on Facebook – and one our John Bachman introduced you to on Monday.

It shows clerk Paula Pedley being rushed by a robber inside Shore’s Liquors on Memorial Day.

“I was just more shocked like -- what, are you kidding me? You’re really going to rob me in the middle of the day?” she explained.

After Pedley yelled, the thief ran off empty-handed. His friend made off with a bottle of Aftershock and a bottle of Jamison.

Pedley said she called JSO’s non-emergency number and officers responded right away, but no report was written.

“They never wrote anything down. The manager was here at the time and he offered for them to come up to the office and look at video surveillance and they didn’t really seem interested in that, either,” Pedley continued.

We reached out to JSO about that claim. We were told there was no report because officers responded to a suspicious person call.

We took that answer to Action News Jax Crime and Safety expert Ken Jefferson.

"JSO, after being called, is responsible for investigating that crime very, very thoroughly. Even if it came in as a suspicious person, there’s certain questions you can ask,” he said.

Pedley said she’s disappointed, but at this point, she’s relying on the community to bring this man to justice.

“If someone recognizes him from the videos or the news coverage, that would be really nice.”

JSO said if Pedley is not happy with how her incident was handled, she can call the department and have a supervisor come out.
