Two teenagers have non-life threatening injuries after being shot near a private party Saturday.

The 15-year-old and 17-year-old were shot as people were leaving the "juvenile" event that was hosted at the National Guard Armory on Normandy Boulevard.

Officers said no duty officers were working the event. A lieutenant said he was contacted earlier that night by someone saying that there might be a shooting at the event.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it offered emergency off-duty officers but the event's promoter of Forever Turnt Entertainment declined the offer since there was already private security present.

Two officers were left stationed in the median near the facility.  At about 11:15 p.m., multiple officers began a traffic deployment in order to direct cars leaving the event.

While officers were present, multiple rounds were discharged but officers said they were unable to locate a suspect.

No police officers fired any rounds, JSO said.
