JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit responded to an incident on the Northside Friday night.
Detectives responded to the 3500 block of Barnett Street after receiving reports of a man being shot around 7 p.m.
Police said the vicitm was in his vehicle with another adult and a 2-year-old child. The victim told police he was approached by two males suspects, one of whom had a gun.
The victim told police the suspect fired one shot at him and the victim then fled the scene.
Police said a motive for the shooting is not known at this time.
Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
