Judge denies request to dismiss Medicaid fraud charges against dentist accused of hurting kids

A judge has denied a request to dismiss Medicaid fraud charges against a pediatric dentist.

On Wednesday, Dr. Howard S. Schneider waived his court appearance. Schneider is accused of performing unnecessary dental work on children in order to make money.

Action News Jax started investigating parents’ complaints against Schneider last April.

Many say they felt they couldn't go anywhere else, because Schneider was one of a few local dentists who accepted Medicaid.

Schneider closed his Southside practice and relinquished his medical license in May.
