A Jacksonville kindergarten class wanted to do something special for Navy sailors from NAS Jax, so they sent a package of handmade gifts to a deployed squadron.
The students in Sierra Nichols' class at Crystal Springs Elementary painted pictures of American flags and made bracelets for the sailors.
Each red, white and blue bracelet had a heart bead on it and a note that said "Our hearts are with you."
Students also wrote notes to the sailors in response to the question, "If you could say one thing to a sailor what would it be?"
"I hope your boat doesn't tip over and you get eaten by sharks," one student wrote.
The class sent the package of flags, bracelets and a letter to the deployed squadron.
Nichols also sent pictures of the class dressed in red, white and blue so the sailors would get to see who made their gifts.
The squadron got their package and in return, sent the class pictures of them holding the flags and bracelets.
