"I don't know what happened, I didn't think he was even capable of hurting anybody, not alone killing his family," Browser-Haake said.
She said it's a difficult situation for her. Browser-Hakke said she called Vu her nephew and she can't believe he could do this to his wife.
"She's an angel. She works constantly -- cooks when she gets home, she's an angel. I have to tell you, she's an angel," Browser-Haake said.
Police were at Vu's home Saturday afternoon, searching and investigating for what could've happened to make a man kill his wife and son.
Detectives said Vu returned home from work around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning and got into an argument with his wife. That's when police say he grabbed a gun and shot and killed his wife. He then went through his house shooting his 17-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son.
As a family friend for about seven years, Browser-Haake said she never expected this could happen.
