A Lake City man was arrested after he shot his wife in the face Tuesday at their home in the presence of children, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said.
At about 5:21 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call at a home on Corwin Glen to find a woman with a gunshot wound to her face.
Deputies reported that Steven Moot, 32, and his wife were arguing when Moot armed himself with a handgun and shot the woman.
The incident report said there were four children in the house at the time of the shooting, and one of the children called 911.

Deputies said Moot left the house in his work truck, but they captured him a short distance away through a GPS system in his truck.
Moot was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility and faces a charge of attempted murder with no bond.
Deputies said the woman was taking to UF Health while the children were put into the care of Chances for Children.
The Sheriff's Office said the investigation continues.
