Lake City woman facing homicide, DUI charges after bicyclist dies in crash

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year-old Lake City woman remained in Alachua County jail Thursday morning after a fatal crash Wednesday. Shateria Glenn is facing homicide and DUI charges after a bicyclist was struck and killed at about 8:09 p.m. on NW 75th Street and NW 5th Place, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Glenn was driving an SUV south on 75th Street with four passengers, three of whom were children, an FHP news release states. She collided with a 68-year-old Fanning Springs man who was riding a bike at the intersection of 75th Street and 5th Place, FHP said.

After he was struck, the man was thrown from the bicycle, landed in the roadway and was runover by another vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Gainesville woman, FHP said.
